DRIFT AWAY – 1987

I drift away in thoughts of kindness
And run away from all this madness
To make the world we live in easier
And make sure the grass is always greener

I want children to grow up to believe
That they can be all that they can be
For the elderly never to be alone
Or frightened in the place they call their home

To soothe an ache where pain might be
To teach it’s ok to believe
To give a hug where one is needed
To offer a hanky when one is bleeding
